Six axes scored 0-100

Each verdict runs six checks and returns a weighted composite. The individual axis scores are shown so you know what to fix, not just that something is wrong.

Readability
Sentence length and word complexity. Lower complexity scores higher — aim for clarity first.
Structure
H2/H3 distribution and section count. Posts with clear sectioning score significantly higher.
Length
Sweet spot around 800-2000 words. Penalty at extremes — very short and very long posts both lose points.
Links
Outbound and internal link density. One link per ~250 words is the healthy baseline.
Images
At least one image with alt text on posts over ~200 words. Alt text matters for the score.
Title
30-65 characters is the SEO sweet spot. Very short or very long titles lose points here.

How it works

1
Install from WordPress.org

Search "rankd" in the WP plugin directory or install directly. Compatible with Gutenberg and Classic Editor — the plugin auto-detects which you are using.

2
Connect your rankd account

Create a free rankd account at rankd.voiddo.com, generate an API token in your account settings, and paste it into WordPress Settings → rankd.

3
Score any post on demand

Open any post in the editor. Find the rankd sidebar panel. Click Run rankd verdict. Receive a 0-100 score with axis breakdown. No quota burn while you type.

4
Fix, re-score, publish

The verdict shows which axes are dragging your score. Fix the issues, click again to re-score. Publish when you are satisfied — or use the score as your own baseline quality gate.

How rankd differs from Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO and Rank Math focus on keyword targeting, the Flesch-Kincaid readability index, and technical SEO signals. They answer: "Am I targeting the right keyword?" rankd answers a different question: "Is this post structurally good as writing before I worry about keywords?"

Readability scoring in Yoast is a single Flesch-Kincaid number. rankd scores readability plus five additional structural signals in a single composite. The two tools work well together — use Yoast for keyword/SEO; use rankd for structural quality before publishing.

Plugin FAQ

What does the rankd WordPress plugin do?

The rankd plugin adds a sidebar panel to the WordPress editor — Gutenberg and Classic Editor both supported. You click "Run rankd verdict" and receive a 0-100 quality score broken down across six axes: readability, structure, length, links, images, and title. It does not run while you type and does not modify your post.

Does it work with Gutenberg and Classic Editor?

Yes. The plugin auto-detects which editor you are using and renders as a meta box sidebar panel in both environments. Gutenberg uses the block editor sidebar; Classic Editor uses a standard meta box below the post content area.

How many verdicts does the free plan include?

Free accounts get 2 verdicts per day — enough for regular single-post publishing. rankd Pro at $4.99/month or $49.99/year provides 500 verdicts per month, covering a high-volume content team or a writer scoring multiple revisions before publishing.

Does rankd for WordPress replace Yoast SEO or Rank Math?

No — rankd and Yoast/Rank Math answer different questions. Yoast focuses on keyword targeting and Flesch-Kincaid readability. rankd answers: "Is this post structurally good as a piece of writing?" The tools are complementary, not competing.

Is an API token required to use the plugin?

Yes. The plugin connects to rankd.voiddo.com to score content. You need a rankd account (free) and an API token from the rankd settings page. The token is entered once in WordPress Settings → rankd. No content is sent unless you click the verdict button.
